She pages through alumni magazines And soaks up the scenes The privilege and the pedigreed routines The wealth and the means She talks about herself at age 19 And the dreams that she dreamed While paging through alumni magazines Now me, ya know, I never finished school Yeah I've got my regrets And it's not something she'd let me soon forget If she even suspects And I've never seen New England in the Fall But it looks so serene On pages from alumni magazines She talks about herself at age 19 And the dreams that she dreamed The husband and the money and the means The five-star cuisines And I never was the kind to really read But there's pictures I've seen On pages from alumni magazines On pages from alumni magazines On pages from alumni rags Dressed the part and pressed between The pages of alumni magazines

With a gritty mix courtesy of Phil Palazollo (New Pornographers, Ted Leo + Pharmacists), Phil says his idea was "a sort of Wormburner song, fired out of a cannon aimed at a stack of Cheap Trick records, with one copy of 'Do the Collapse' shoved in.” Download the song for free!

It’s the concept of a guy who sounds like he was an English major back when you selected that course of study so you could read novels. A minus" ... more
